Miles of wonderful sandy beaches to explore

All our villas are around 10 minutes, by car, from all the sandy beaches listed below.

The famous Vendée coast - referred to locally as the Côte-de-Lumière (Coast of Light) stretches along 13 kms with 8 kms facing south.  Many beaches have lifeguard surveillance and nearby free car parking areas.

Our local beaches

La-Tranche-sur-Mer

is ideal for families with children. It is approved as a "Kids' Station", which means that the resort is a safe environment for children to play in. It has specialist equipment and entertainments which specifically cater for families. It is also ideal for those wishing to pursue water activities as it has a designated six-hectare area for water sports. The 'Cercle Nautique Tranchais' (CNT) offers sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and sand sailing.

Longeville-sur-Mer

offers seven kilometres of sandy beaches, ideal for sunbathing and also superb for boating and surfing enthusiasts.

La Terrière's

fine sandy beaches and 'blue flag' awards make this a popular choice for families. It is protected from the winds by the island of Ile de Ré and has lifeguard surveillance making it a safe environment for children.

Le Rocher

is a sandy beach with many rock pools at low tide, which are fun for the kids to explore. It also has a games area, shops, cafés and restaurants adjacent to the beach.

Les Conches

is another popular sandy beach ideal for families. On the beachfront there are surf schools and a couple of eating outlets that serve burgers, chips, ice creams & cold drinks

La-Grière-Plage

perfect for those who prefer quieter beaches but still like their creature comforts! The beach is near the resort of La-Tranche-sur-Mer, but even in the height of summer, it offers superb sand with a less frenetic atmosphere. Local cafés do a roaring trade in “Brioches Vendéennes”, a mouth-watering cross between bread and cake.
