Our delightful local villages

Our small market villages are found amidst the lovely countryside of the Vendée department of Western France, close to the Atlantic coast and on the edge of the Marais Poitevin.  They are typically French, with soft, grey stone buildings built in the traditional style, a lovely church as its centrepiece, and a vibrant twice weekly market.

Local shops

Our villages have an Office de Tourisme, boulangeries (bakers), post office, banks, hairdressers, beauty salon, aromatherapist, pharmacy, doctors, crêperie, cafes/bars and restaurants.  Also that important 'cave' for locally-produced wine plus a quaint boutique of arts/crafts for the perfect holiday gift.  Just on the outskirts of the village (a 5 minute cycle) is a large supermarket and petrol stations

Located so close to the village you and the kids can pop out in the morning to pick up a fresh baguette, croissants or some yummy fresh cakes from one of the wonderful baker's.  A great opportunity for you all to practice your French each morning.  Or visit in the evenings to a choice of great restaurants - a delightful hotel restaurant, bistro, pizza restaurant or the new crêperie!

This coastal area is a gourmet's delight! The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers visiting the town's fish market (open every weekday at 5am) will be able to choose from a range of freshly caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustines & gambas.
